More to life

The temperature dropped forty degrees overnight.
The wind is tenacious and such gossamer snowflakes don't stand a chance. Whipped back and forth in a haphazard track to the concrete, I sympathize.

This life is not mapped out. Evanescent forces stretch me in all directions.
If I can just get through the next 18 months...

"It is the very pursuit of happiness that thwarts happiness." - Viktor Frankl

Do you know the difference between a happy life and a meaningful one?
Know this: There is value in suffering.

  1. do people not know that there is value in suffering?

  2. Chasing happiness is like chasing a rainbow or trying to get a cat to come to you.

    Take care of yourself, ok?

    Love you <3

  3. This is so true... I wrote about something similar to this.. just because you are good and kind does not mean you won't have trials.... This was such a true post LuLu

  4. I saw your post on Google + so I popped over to start following you.

  5. I just gave my son Mans Search For Meaning....
yes, there can be much value in Catholic faith calls it redemptive suffering and it can change the world when we offer it up....
I am your newest follower..pls follow back if you can.

  6. everyone wants to be happy but its not something that can be sought its made by the people around you and the amount you put into life itself
    much love

  7. I know that what I'm going to say will sound stupid :)
But I think the best is to have a meanful and happy life at the same time ... But I know it's not that easy !

    xoxo ♥

  8. I love the Frankl quote - I had never heard of that before. I need to add that to my quote collection :)

  9. quite mesmerized by this. i should have come earlier, you made the icy winds more bearable

  10. and i love frankl, his approach to giving meaning to events thought and life in general eased my bdd a lot 2 years ago...

  11. " This life is not mapped out. Evanescent forces stretch me in all directions"

I liked that a lot. That kind of writing catches my attention. I'll follow along.

  12. Beautiful post and I loved the article. Sometimes at our lowest we forget our meaning, maybe finding meaning also brings a bit of happiness.

  13. i love how you describe the snowflakes being whipped about.

  14. Is there value in suffering? I wonder how long one has to suffer before the value is realized. I feel like you're writing about my insides.

    That is all.
